Kai Bollmann

About the Akademie der Mathematik – the German Academy of Mathematics

In 1989 Kai Bollmann started as a tutor for mathematics. Initially to supplement his pocket money, later to finance his studies. And all of this, despite the fact that as a student he almost always brought home bad math grades.

He knows exactly what it feels like to understand nothing at all, because it was all greek to him in class. In eighth grade he was kicked out of high school because of math. When he graduated from secondary school, he received another “poor” in mathematics. At that time he was certified as having a “lack of comprehension” and was strongly advised not to study – especially mathematics and natural sciences.

Contrary to the recommendations, he began to study physics, mathematics and economics and dealt with different learning techniques right from the start – this was his key to success. After studying at Bielefeld and Harvard (where he was one of the best in mathematics in his first semester) and several years in management consulting, he founded the Akademie der Mathematik – the German Academy of Mathematics.

Together with his team, which consists of mathematicians, physicists, economists and engineers, he is now showing other people how easy mathematics can be. The different personalities and skills complement each other so that you always have the right coach at your side. Because only in this way can we meet the various customer requirements and needs.

Because we all use math everyday …

There are no secrets to success. It is the result of preparation, hard work, and learning from failure.
