What is the Internal Assessment?
For each subject, every IB student has to write an Internal Assessment in addition to the written theoretical part. 20% of this is included in the final grade of the respective subject. This is an approx. 10-15-page (depending on subject and level) scientific paper on a self-developed question. The IA is checked by the relevant subject teacher according to defined criteria and assessed by an external moderator of the IBO.
The time required for this is between 20 and 100 hours, depending on the topic and the desired grade. Over 96% of our students achieve level 6 or 7 in their IA with our support.
